Medlow Bath Station and Footbridge
A curved pedestrian bridge connects Medlow Bath across the Great Western Highway. TZG and DesignInc combine accessible routes with a response to the heritage station and Blue Mountains landscape.
The bridge curls around the circular lift tower.

The place
Medlow Bath, NSW, Australia
The new footbridge crosses the Great Western Highway at Medlow Bath, linking the village with its railway station. Its curved steel form sits alongside the station’s heritage buildings and the Hydro Majestic Hotel, with views towards the Megalong Valley.
A circular lift tower and wrapping stair mark one end of the bridge. At the other, a ramp returns to the landscape. A separate platform lift and connecting path improve access to the station, making the route usable by people who cannot take the stairs.
TZG worked with DesignInc on the bridge and station upgrade, bringing together heritage design with the documentation and construction phases of the project. Mesh screens preserve views through the structure. Heritage interpretation and pavement artwork by Shay Tobin of the Dharug Nation connect the crossing with the history and stories of the place.
