The story
The story behind the work.
Reframing the Welsh Lido explores outdoor swimming as civic infrastructure. Leilou Walmsley draws on the communal role of lidos in South Wales to propose a new setting for shared leisure in a post-industrial landscape.
Small stone pools cascade along the southern bank of a stream north of Radyr weir. The buildings frame the landscape around them, with the axonometric, elevations and pool view showing the relationship between water, architecture and trees.
