The story
The story behind the work.
Supper Time is a low-impact infill extension to a Victorian home, developed with a family during Covid lockdown.
A flexible dining thread links the kitchen, garden room and garden, with exposed timber and glazing, bespoke patterned tiles, a retained bread oven and dark-blue, yellow and teal accents. Foster Structures, Griffon Construction and Jim Stephenson are credited.
An infill extension connects spaces at the back of a Victorian home, creating a flexible dining area for family life and supper clubs. The garden room uses existing openings and rests against the original structure with limited intervention.
Exposed timber and glazing admit daylight, while a bespoke Bert & May tile pattern and Clayworks plaster give the space a tactile character. The kitchen remains in place with an additional worktop and utility/shower space; a restored bread oven is revealed through sliding pocket doors.
