The story
The story behind the work.
The Common E2 combines the architecture studio with a cafe, retail unit, gallery, commercial kitchen and workspace. Common Ground Workshop designed the 80 sq m Bethnal Green space as a public-facing hub shared with the artist collective Commonage.
A movable screen and modular storage allow the double-fronted ground floor to divide into two rooms or open for larger events. The informal basement arrangement supports exhibitions, food preparation and other changing uses.
