Urban Mosaic - Adaptive Reuse as a Catalyst for Multi-Generational Urban living, Cardiff, Wales, UK

The project

Urban Mosaic is Divya Vura’s architectural and urban design project that reimagines a post-industrial district in Cardiff as a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive community. The proposal explores adaptive reuse as a tool for urban regeneration, transforming existing industrial sheds into mixed-use spaces that blend living, working, and social interaction.

The design integrates heritage conservation, ecological infrastructure, and multi-generational housing, creating a cohesive and resilient urban environment. Sustainable strategies such as green pockets and SUDs enhance climate responsiveness and biodiversity while strengthening community wellbeing.

Recognized with the Certificate of Recognition for Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse from Oxford Brookes University, Urban Mosaic reflects Divya’s commitment to transforming underutilized urban areas into connected, adaptable, and future-ready neighborhoods.
