In their words
Founded by Michael Squire in 1976, Squire & Partners works across architecture, interior design and masterplanning. Its projects range from bespoke fit-outs to large urban developments.
The practice works from The Department Store in Brixton, a building it owns, redesigned and developed, and continues to manage. Its own workplace brings together the studio's interests in design, making and the life of the surrounding neighbourhood.
In-house illustration, computer visualisation and model-making support the design process, helping teams explore ideas and communicate proposals at different scales.

The practice's published approach links lasting architecture to adaptable buildings, robust materials and careful detailing. It also places weight on early community involvement and understanding how people will use a building.
