Squire & Partners stripped back later interventions to restore the character of Richard Seifert and George Marsh's cylindrical tower and rectilinear block while adding carefully judged extensions.
The reuse retains 90 per cent of the original structure and introduces modern services, flexible workspace and a public restaurant in the former petrol-station canopy. The project is one of the UK's largest BREEAM Outstanding listed buildings.
