The brief

The question behind the work.

Aston Tamil Community Centre is Abiraam Karunakaran’s final design proposal responding to the social needs of the Tamil community.

The interior studies show a sequence of gathering, working, learning and dining spaces. A sculptural blue canopy forms a focal point in the larger communal interior, while the other views explore smaller rooms and everyday shared activities.
