The story

The story behind the work.

WW+P designed Barking Riverside Station as a clear and generous gateway at the end of a new viaduct, with step-free movement from the new town square to elevated platforms and views towards the Thames.

A repeatable structural system supported cost-effective construction, while perforated Corten screens, glazing, stone flooring and exposed roof trusses give the transport building a durable civic presence and allow straightforward inspection and maintenance.
