Full planning approval for a contemporary barn-inspired three-bedroom house on a rear garden site in Laxfield, Suffolk.
The site sits in the garden of a Grade II listed farmhouse, so the proposal was kept subservient to the listed house and its setting. Splitting the design into two adjoining masses reduced the perceived volume, let the scheme step up away from the farmhouse and presented a reduced elevation, with the tall element oriented end-on and limited to one and a half storeys.
