Projects / Built project
A reuse-led university interior designed for flexible learning, hybrid teaching and long-term adaptability.
The story
Campus Borlänge transforms the Liljan building into a 13,300 sq m environment for learning and work. Archus delivered the renovation and extension, while White designed the interior architecture, loose furnishings and lighting across teaching spaces, laboratories, offices, a library, café and auditorium.
Reuse shaped the project from early furniture surveys and carbon analysis through trial renovations and local making. Existing book veneer became a recurring material, the colour palette gave older furniture a second life and new pieces were selected only where a new function required them.
