The story behind the work.
Clare Nash Architecture replaced a poorly performing bungalow with a two-storey family house and detached garage, shaping the openings and roof pitch around the language of a rural barn.
Local ironstone, slate and waney-edged timber help the building settle into its setting. A highly insulated envelope, MVHR, an air-source heat pump and rainwater harvesting deliver performance described by the practice as close to Passivhaus.
