A four-bedroom prefabricated timber-frame home translates local rural forms into a bright, low-energy family house.
The story
Clare Nash Architecture provided design and planning consultancy for a four-bedroom self-build on the edge of a village, developing two vernacularly informed options before one was adapted for planning permission.
The selected prefabricated timber-frame design combines ironstone, timber, standing-seam metal and slate with high-performance glazing. The practice also supplied construction details and coordinated building control across the frame, windows, structure and MVHR design.
