The project

The Fahle estate grew mostly between 1908 and 1915 and housed a paper factory until the 1990s. Its century-old limestone walls now sit alongside modern glass and greenery.

The once-abandoned alley reopened in 2021 as a covered passage full of tropical planting, sheltered from the winter. The glass roof rests on new concrete beams set into the cornices of the old buildings, without columns, and a bridge links the buildings on either side.
