Glengala Primary School, Stage 02
Connected junior classrooms, administration spaces and an art room extend a primary school campus, using flexible partitions and colour to guide movement.

The project
The second stage at Glengala Primary School adds junior learning spaces, administration and an art room to the Sunshine West campus. It follows the school’s earlier permanent modular building, completed in 2018, while addressing a different programme within the grounds.
Sliding and rotating doors connect adjoining classrooms so that spaces can support general teaching, specialist activities or larger groups. Smaller withdrawal rooms sit between teaching spaces and the administrative area, providing places for quieter work alongside the main learning environment.

Covered entrance between the corrugated-clad learning wings.
A central public spine separates the junior school from administration and links the two main school entrances. The art room occupies a central position between the three school buildings, giving creative activities a shared place within the campus.
The material palette is intended for robust everyday use. Muted finishes distinguish administration, while stronger colours help younger pupils recognise spaces and routes. Purple breakout areas, glazed connections and covered entries make the relationships between rooms and outdoor learning areas visible.
