The story

The story behind the work.

Lavender Hill transforms a former sheet-metal works into nine homes around a cobbled mews and densely planted courtyard. Tight access, sloping land, varied ground conditions and multiple party walls shaped the engineering strategy.

Symmetrys provides structural and civil engineering, while Sergison Bates Architects holds the architectural role. The project was shortlisted for the 2023 RIBA Stirling Prize; this governed record keeps those disciplines and credits distinct.
