The story behind the work.
BDP's refurbishment of Leighton House Museum removes less significant later additions while restoring the original house and garden. A new entrance in the Perrin Wing, the restored Winter Studio, De Morgan Café and expanded basement support exhibitions, archives and visitor facilities.
A brick stair and lift rotunda connects every level, making the museum fully accessible for the first time. The multidisciplinary £6m project completed in 2022 for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Its architecture, engineering, landscape, acoustics and lighting credits remain with BDP rather than being inferred for the podcast guest.
