The story

The story behind the work.

Oak Cancer Centre brings research and outpatient care together at The Royal Marsden in Sutton. The Kuok Research Centre, Olayan Day Care Unit and rapid diagnostic facilities are organised around collaborative spaces, with all 63 chemotherapy bays facing a landscaped garden.

Terraces across the six-storey building, an atrium and external shading give patients and staff daylight, views and fresh air. BDP records completion in 2023, an £80m cost and BREEAM Excellent. The broad design credit remains at practice level and does not imply Justin Parsons personally designed the project.
