The story behind the work.
WW+P transformed Old Street Station with a landmark entrance that improves passenger capacity, sightlines and daylight while creating a clearer point of arrival within a newly pedestrianised public space.
A prefabricated sculptural concrete tree supports a biodiverse green roof. Sustainable drainage and pollution-reducing paving extend the environmental strategy into the public realm, earning Transport for London's 2024 Outstanding Environmental Initiative award.
