The story

The story behind the work.

NIKJOO developed a viable new programme for an underused South London landmark, balancing commercial operation, cultural relevance and the ability to adapt over time. The first phase includes a 470-capacity basement nightclub and a first-floor bar and cultural venue.

The practice led concept development, construction and contract administration, integrating new interventions within the existing building and allowing its different uses to operate together. A restaurant and top-floor workspace form a later phase of the programme.
