Coolington Barn

Projects / Built project
Former stables beside a listed farmhouse became holiday accommodation, alongside a characterful kitchen and snug extension.
The story
Clare Nash Architecture converted stables within the setting of a listed farmhouse into holiday accommodation and extended the farmhouse into an attached barn for a new kitchen and sunken snug.
The listed-building process required additional evidence to establish the age of the stables before rebuilding could be accepted. Drawings supported construction, while retained irregular studwork preserves the history and character of the barn interior.
