A 13-storey Farringdon office and retail development with a 66% increase in net lettable area and low embodied carbon.
The story
Stonecutter Court replaces an earlier building in Farringdon with a 13-storey commercial development comprising 236,000 sq ft of offices and 9,000 sq ft of retail. The redevelopment increased net lettable area by 66%, while roof terraces and a varied podium and upper-floor arrangement create outdoor space for occupiers.
The official case study records embodied carbon of 581 kg CO2 per sq m and describes an all-electric route to net-zero-carbon operation. Ivanhoé Cambridge is the client, TP Bennett the architect and MACE the delivery partner. CO—RE's credit is limited to its verified development-management context; no Dolunay Dogahan design authorship is inferred.
