The brief
The question behind the work.
Titled "TerraNexus", his final design thesis introduces mixed use living and fabrication spaces as a means to improve the quality of living for residents in Torre Baro, Barcelona. As a result of the steep terrain, overtime the neighborhood has suffered from a lack of government support resulting in a poorly built self sufficient community that has left one sector of the neighborhood secluded by the rest. Located within this sector of Torre Baro, TerraNexus aims at providing residents with a sense of community not only through shared spaces built using rammed earth but also through open markets, making a difference to once lost community.
