Adobe Creative Suite
The Adobe design bundle behind portfolios, boards, reports and renders. What each app does, and where it shows up in practice.
Knowledge
What is Adobe Creative Suite?
Adobe Creative Suite is the bundle of Adobe design tools, sold today as Adobe Creative Cloud. For architecture the core apps are Photoshop for image editing, InDesign for layout, Illustrator for vector graphics and Premiere Pro for film.
Practices use it for the presentation side of the job: portfolios, competition boards, planning documents, reports and marketing material. Most studios expect fluency in at least Photoshop and InDesign alongside CAD or BIM tools.
For your career, the Adobe bundle is the quiet constant in job specs. It rarely leads an advert, but weak presentation skills are an easy reason to be filtered out at portfolio stage.
- It frames your portfolio
Most applications are judged first on a document built in InDesign or Photoshop. Fluency shows.
- It supports every stage
From concept boards to planning reports, Adobe tools carry the visual argument of a project.
- It is assumed, not advertised
Specs often skip naming it because fluency is treated as a given. Treat it that way too.
