What is SketchUp?
SketchUp is Trimble's 3D modelling tool, known for being quick to learn and quick to model with. It is the tool many UK practices reach for at concept stage: massing, test fits and early interiors.
It shows up constantly in job specs for Part I and Part II roles, and in interiors and visualisation teams. Paired with Enscape or V-Ray it produces presentation imagery without a separate rendering pipeline.
Its limits matter too: SketchUp is not a documentation tool, so most practices rebuild in Revit as projects develop. Strong candidates know both where SketchUp shines and when to move on.

When does SketchUp still matter alongside Revit?
