Project Architect wanted to run a new build teaching facility from RIBA Stage 3 onwards, based in Manchester. This is a delivery-focused role for someone who already has the experience to carry a live education project through the technical and construction stages.
You will take the lead on this project from Stage 3 through to completion, working in Revit. The practice is open on exact years, so what matters is that you have run a project of this type and size before and can stand on your own two feet from day one.
This is a genuine lead role on a single, substantial building, not a shared seat across five jobs. If you want to own the delivery of an education scheme and see it through on site, read on.
The Practice
- You will join an employee-owned, B Corp certified practice working from a Manchester studio.
- The work centres on resource-conscious, human-centred architecture across sectors including education, culture and workplace.
- Sustainability sits at the core here, with approved science-based targets and public carbon reporting behind the design approach.
The Work
- You will lead an education project from RIBA Stage 3 onwards.
- You will carry the project through the technical stages and on to site through to completion.
- You will produce and coordinate the project's delivery information in Revit.
- You will work alongside the wider design team and consultants to keep the building on track.
- You will be the point of continuity on this scheme rather than splitting your week across many.
What You Need
- You need enough experience to lead a project of this type without close supervision.
- You need to have taken a comparable building through the later RIBA stages and onto site.
- You need to be fluent in Revit, as it is the practice's working tool.
- You need a strong grasp of technical detailing and construction-stage coordination.
- ARB registration is welcome, and the practice will equally consider candidates who are not ARB registered where the experience fits.
- You need to be able to start on a notice period of no more than six weeks.
- You will need to have valid right to work in the UK, as no sponsorship is provided for this role.
The Offer
- You will work on a hybrid basis from the Manchester studio.
- You will join an employee-owned trust, so staff share in the practice's ownership.
- You will receive increased annual leave per years of tenure.
- You will have the opportunity to work on sustainability projects.
- You will be provided with private medical care post probation.
- You will have Christmas and New Years off work with their yearly closure.
