The brief
The question behind the work.
In his Dezeen-featured thesis, Oleh explores a dystopian future constructed around Augmented Reality (AR), which eventually collapses. This imagined world must then be rebuilt from its digital ruins, framing the thesis as an adaptive reuse project extrapolated onto a future timeline. By utilising a range of computational methods and digital media, including a short film, AROCALYPSE immerses viewers in a dark cyberpunk atmosphere where digital infrastructure has failed and physical amenities are yet to be built.
