Projects / Project
ZOOM architecten has drawn up a masterplan for the Bakery Museum in Veurne and built a new entrance pavilion for its educational workshops.
The pavilion and the old farm buildings.
The project
The museum occupies a site dating from the 14th century, with three farm buildings around 400 years old. The new pavilion draws on traditional farm buildings: a long, single-storey gabled volume that shields the museum from the nearby motorway.
Placed at the centre of the site like a market hall, it is the starting point for exploring the grounds. Two canopies cover an open grid of columns for flexible outdoor use, with two compact workshop rooms reached from outside. Its colours invert those of the existing buildings.
