A long-term conservation appointment supports a Grade I Victorian church known as the Cathedral of the Arts and Crafts, combining condition surveys, repairs, access and new community facilities.
The story
Designed by John Dando Sedding, Holy Trinity is a Grade I listed church of national significance for its Arts and Crafts interior, Pre-Raphaelite furnishings and stained glass. Le Lay Architects has worked with the church for more than ten years through its appointment as Quinquennial Inspector.
The practice provides five-year condition surveys and advice on major repairs, heating and the everyday care of the building fabric, art and furnishings. Its work also includes meeting spaces, catering facilities and disabled access, helping the historic church remain useful to its congregation and wider community.
