About

About Community Led Housing London.

Community Led Housing London supports people to take a leading and lasting role over their homes and neighbourhoods, together. The team, now operating as communityled.homes, advises and mentors community groups looking to provide their own housing through cohousing, community land trusts and housing co-operatives.

The organisation works with groups at an early stage, offering advice and mentoring on development, partnerships and acquisitions. It also works with London boroughs and others to create opportunities for community led housing, and with developers and housing associations to enable community led housing and coproduction.

Originally established by the Mayor of London, the team is formally part of CDS Co-operatives, a Registered Provider of social housing across London and the South East with a long history of supporting co-operative and community led housing. It works closely with the Community Land Trust Network, the Confederation of Co-operative Housing and UK Cohousing.

For architects and built environment professionals, the team is a first port of call on community led housing in the capital, helping groups assess sites, assemble consultant teams and navigate funding, planning and delivery.
