About
About Rixon Architects.
We don't have a house style, instead our design approach is to treat each project on its own merits. We'll aim to create a simple, attractive, original solution to your unique requirements. One that uses the minimum amount of materials and structural changes, yet achieves the maximum impact for you and your building. And, as a result, a solution that helps your money to go further.
Rixon Architects is a small Cambridge-based practice specialising in retrofit and low-energy design. Founder James Rixon works with homeowners and building owners to make existing buildings fit for the future, planning interventions that improve comfort, lower energy use and cut carbon over time rather than all at once. James has completed Certified Passive House Designer training and is involved in the Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) and the Cambridge Retrofit Hub, a place-based initiative supporting retrofit at scale.
