Architecture and interiors shaped through conversation.
Established in 1996, Architects Ink is an architecture and interior design practice with offices in Adelaide, Sydney and the Gold Coast. Its residential work includes new homes, alterations, additions and multi-residential projects.
The practice also works across healthcare, workplaces, hospitality, education, retail and public-sector projects. It develops architecture and interiors together, with a focus on how clients use their homes and workplaces.
Its studio describes a collaborative process in which clients, designers, builders and consultants contribute to the design. Workshops and an ongoing exchange of ideas help establish a specific direction for each project.
Carrickalinga Shed shows that process applied to an exposed hilltop site. The familiar outline of a farmhouse is reworked around a sheltered courtyard, with corrugated metal and adjustable shutters responding to the landscape.
