    Description

    Architecture for London are RIBA Chartered architects dedicated to the creation of inspirational architecture and interiors. Our combined design and construction service ensures that each project meets the exacting requirements of our clients.
    Our residential projects include new build architectural homes, refurbishments of heritage properties and house extensions at all scales. We can offer a complete turn-key solution, including design and build, sustainability, interior design, joinery and garden design.

    We create healthy buildings with natural, breathable materials that achieve the highest sustainability and comfort standards, including Passivhaus and EnerPhit. This approach creates warm, low-energy homes and workplaces that are a joy to inhabit.

    Fisher & Paykel Showroom:

    “Sometimes I imagine… an accumulated pool of cool greenstone coins, smooth to the touch or layer upon layer of fine mats or yard upon yard of tapa” – Mana by Karlo Mila

    The evocative words of local poet Karlo Mila led to ceilings being imagined as contemporary tapa and curtains in natural flax from the Pacific Islands. The curtains respond to the requirement for concealed temporary storage areas throughout the space. The restrained design approach and material palette reflect Fisher & Paykel’s ethos: of reducing visual clutter by concealing working areas, to perfectly match hardware, materiality and textures.

    A beautiful and sensitively reconfigured Georgian house in the Barnsbury conservation area, photographed for @architectureforlondon on a calm January day last year. It was recently published by @divisare_

    Home to an art historian, and captured on medium format film, the series of images show what can be done in a day of shooting, even when daylight hours are limited. The even winter light imbues these photos with a sense of peace and stillness that I really enjoy. I look forward to more shoots like this in the coming months.

    Low Energy House: This project aims to be an exemplar for the sustainable refurbishment of a typical terraced home in London, with a constrained budget. Both embodied energy and energy in-use have been considered in depth.

    Energy requirements are reduced dramatically by insulating, triple-glazing and improving airtightness. New additions include a rear extension and a loft conversion.
