Meet our team

Stephen is the founder of the Architecture Social, Head of Talent at Ackroyd Lowrie, Council Member of the Royal Institute of Architects and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

He worked in the Architecture industry at EPR Architects for three years after completing a degree and diploma in Architecture at the University of Westminster and Manchester School of Architecture.

Since 2014, Stephen left practising Architecture to pursue a career in recruitment where he worked alongside industry-leading Architecture Practices such as AHMM, Allies and Morrison, Benoy, Corgan and Skidmore Owings and Merrill to find creative designers for their teams.

In 2021, Stephen joined Ackroyd Lowrie, an ambitious Architecture Practice as their Head of Talent where he is currently responsible for internal recruitment as well as retaining existing staff, alongside building up his own business known as the Architecture Social.

Previously a Visiting Critic and Teaching Assistant of Manchester School of Architecture, professional mentor for postgraduate students of Architecture at the University of Westminster, and a guest lecturer for students of LMJU.

Oliver is an architect and co-founder of Ackroyd Lowrie. Previous to this, he spent 10 years working at Architype where he was responsible for developing a modular, timber-framed construction system that was used by several London Boroughs to deliver new Primary Schools and Nurseries. Most recently Oliver has spent three years as Project Architect for the prestigious £24m New Junior School for Highgate School in North London.

Oliver passionately believes in working closely with clients, makers and builders to deliver projects in a collaborative manner. This approach, along with the revolution in 3D printing will change the building industry fundamentally, and Oliver is keen that Ackroyd Lowrie are at the forefront of this shift.

Jon is an award winning chartered architect who co-founded Ackroyd Lowrie. He has over 12 years’ experience in the industry and has overseen numerous schemes of £300K-£20m, as well as master plans of up to £200m.

Following a successful career at environmental pioneers Architype Architects, Jon went on to establish his own practice, to expand on his design flair and environmental expertise, and work with design-led consultants to create innovative, bespoke architectural solutions.

Jon’s preceding three major projects at Architype were all award-winning complex refurbishments within locally listed buildings, including the RIBA Award winning Robert Fitzroy Academy, which beautifully unified architecture from different eras with a coherent design strategy to form a legible, contemporary school.
