A well-established and busy architectural practice based in Essex is seeking to appoint an Architectural Technologist to join its expanding team. With a strong and secure pipeline of predominantly local residential projects, the studio offers a stable and engaging working environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of small-scale residential schemes, supporting projects from planning stages through to technical delivery. The role will involve preparing drawings for planning and building regulations, as well as collaborating closely with the wider team to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing planning and building regulations drawings from concept through to approval
• Preparing detailed technical drawing and construction packages
• Supporting projects through technical and delivery stages
• Coordinating information with consultants including structural engineers and building control
• Responding to building control and planning queries
• Ensuring drawings comply with current UK Building Regulations and standards
• Assisting with technical problem solving and design development
• Managing drawing packages across multiple live projects
• Working closely with senior team members to deliver projects efficiently

About You

• Experience working as an Architectural Technologist or in a technical architectural role in the UK
• Strong experience producing planning and building regulations packages
• Full proficient AutoCAD user
• Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and residential construction methods
• Comfortable working on small scale residential projects
• Able to manage workload in a busy practice environment
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work
• Clear communication skills and comfortable working as part of a team
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the role
