A large AJ100 practice based in Central London is looking for a strategic communicator to lead its Communications and PR function, helping elevate its profile across the UK and international markets. You will join a collaborative, research‑driven environment where design, technology, and sustainability come together to create meaningful impact.

Candidates with experience working in the architecture and design sectors are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an integrated communications strategy that amplifies the studio’s work, values, and thought leadership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, industry press, partners, and stakeholders.
• Produce compelling narratives for media releases, public statements, publications, and digital channels
• Prepare spokespersons for interviews, key announcements, and public events
• Lead PR campaigns that strengthen brand visibility and support the studio’s long‑term positioning
• Monitor media coverage and sentiment, advising senior leaders on risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate crisis communication responses when required
• Support internal communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across teams

Skills and Experience

• At least 6 years experience in a communications or public relations role, ideally within an architecture or design company
• Strong writing, editing, and messaging development skills
• Confidence working with press, navigating complex narratives, and representing a design‑led organisation
• Ability to balance hands‑on content creation with leadership of broader strategic initiatives
• Comfortable managing sensitive issues and high‑profile stories
