A boutique architecture studio specialising in high-end private residential projects is seeking a Technical Architect with a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience to lead and deliver technical aspects of projects, primarily across RIBA Stages 4–7, using ArchiCAD.
The practice delivers bespoke, functional and sustainable homes through a highly collaborative design methodology, placing the client at the centre of the process. Projects are developed through rigorous analysis and simulation of how clients interact with space, resulting in carefully considered, design-led residential environments.
Each project is delivered by a focused team of three, with clear specialisms across Design, Technical Design, and Management. The successful candidate will act as the technical specialist within this structure.
The Role
Primary responsibilities include:
- Providing technical input and advice during RIBA Stages 0–3
- Producing tender and construction packages, including drawings, schedules and specifications
- Coordinating external consultant information with the internal team
- Managing tender processes, including issuing documentation and undertaking tender analysis in collaboration with a Quantity Surveyor
- Undertaking site inspections, liaising with contractors, responding to RFIs, managing site procedures and producing associated documentation
- Assisting in the administration of JCT and Construction Management contracts, including issuing instructions, certificates and related documentation (training available)
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Experience working on medium to high-end private residential projects
- Strong technical design and detailing capability, working confidently within a 3D BIM environment
- Demonstrable experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 4–7
- Proven ability to produce and coordinate tender and construction information
- Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Clear understanding of BIM workflows and collaborative processes
- High proficiency in ArchiCAD
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in emerging technical and sustainable design solutions
- Collaborative, proactive and positive approach
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Experience undertaking site inspections and associated reporting
- Working knowledge of JCT contract administration
- Applied understanding of sustainable design principles
