UnforgetTABLE Games is the third Integrated Design Project (IDP) of Year 1, where it focuses on re-purposing an unused building, amending it to give it new life and creating an extension from the building to the surroundings. The IDP 3 project serves as preparation for Year 2 where it teaches students on the importance of "killer drawings" and final-review presentation suited for industry-level architecture proposals and competitions.
Situated at the Boathouse, University Park, University of Nottingham, its unuse was due to another boat business taking over the lake. Now, UnforgetTABLE games plan to revitalise it into a board game hub for university students and the public, encouraging socialisation across the 24-hours, entertainment and modular interaction of a crucial element: the table.
With the table adjustable to different heights and the ability to be combined to create bigger tables, its possibilities are immense and adapt to different board games, allowing a dynamic and varied interaction.
Andrew Maghari is a Year 2 Architecture student who finished Year 1 with a high 2.1 with a tutor's choice award for his IDP 3 project. Has experience in InvestIN, realising 16–18-year-olds students' potential in the Architecture field.
