Our Approach: To truly develop the environmental and social sustainability of a project, we take a step back and widen our perspective. When we examine a building or site, we consider not only the daily users but also the surrounding community, passersby, and even those who observe it from a distance. We analyze its impact on the immediate and broader environment, the neighborhood, and the city as a whole. How can we maximize social value?

In order to achieve this, we actively engage and consult with local communities, including those who may be underrepresented. We collaborate with schools, young people, faith groups, residents, and even cemeteries to ensure that the creative design is driven by the needs and aspirations of those who will actually use the space.

Our Place studio is involved in every project, incorporating expertise from urban design and landscape disciplines. We delve into the micro details while considering the macro impact. We also foster partnerships with like-minded organizations, including housing associations, property developers, architects, and master planners. Through these collaborations, we broaden our perspective, adding value to projects and creating inviting and inspiring spaces for future generations.

People are at the core of our practice. We strive to cultivate a collaborative and creative working environment, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance, and giving back to the community. We firmly believe that great ideas can come from anyone, and we encourage every individual in our practice to have a voice.

Many of our staff members actively contribute to the industry beyond their roles, whether it's reviewing others' work, participating in debates, conducting research, speaking at events, or writing articles. We also play a role in nurturing the next generation by teaching and mentoring at architecture schools across the country.

In both our London and Manchester design studios, we invest in the development of our staff through training programs, continuous professional development (CPD), research opportunities, working groups, and study trips abroad. Our vibrant studio culture also includes regular social events, softball games, and themed parties.

Our talented team of designers and experts in sustainability, research, visualization, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Construction Design and Management (CDM) is the driving force behind our ability to design award-winning buildings, spaces, and landscapes.
