BIM Initiative is a Building Information Modelling consultancy founded by Pierre Venter. It helps architects, engineers, contractors and clients manage building information across the project and asset lifecycle, so that better decisions are made earlier using experience, history and lessons learned.
The work treats BIM as a working method rather than software alone: implementation and coordination, information and data management, spatial coordination, and collaborative workflows that bring the whole project team together, including the client and the contractor. Pierre draws on around three decades in architecture and long experience with BIM, working across tools such as Revit, SketchUp and Enscape to produce fast visualisation, virtual reality walkthroughs and real-time feedback that support design quality control and clearer client conversations.
BIM Initiative also supports training and knowledge sharing, including Dynamo and wider BIM implementation, on the principle that the more openly the industry shares its methods, the more everyone benefits.
