HLW Architects

HLW is a multidisciplinary design firm working across architecture, interiors, landscape, planning and strategy. Founded in New York in 1885, it is one of the oldest design practices in the United States, and has spent well over a century evolving the built environment to match changing client and societal needs.

HLW's London studio has been established for around 30 years, delivering projects across the UK and the wider EMEA region. The London team is known for its workplace and commercial interiors, alongside base-build and repositioning work for landlords and developers, with clients spanning the technology and financial sectors.

Alongside its core architecture and interior design teams, HLW runs a number of in-house speciality studios covering workplace strategy and discovery, research and insights, branding and graphics, lighting design, and sustainability and wellness. This breadth lets project teams bring specialist input and accreditations from within the practice.

Sustainability is built into the studio's work, from reducing embodied carbon on completed schemes to a materials policy that screens harmful products out of specification. HLW pairs the scale and reach of a global firm with the agility and close-knit culture of a smaller studio.
