HTA Design LLP is a multi-disciplinary practice specialising in housing and regeneration, with studios in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Sydney. Originally established in 1969, the practice has a long history of delivering housing and regeneration projects across the UK.
HTA Architects Ltd transferred to HTA Design LLP in April 2013 when a new partnership was formed. Today the practice employs around 200 staff across specialist teams covering architecture, landscape design, planning, urban design, sustainability, interior design, and graphic design and communications.
This integrated structure allows HTA to work across all aspects of housing, from individual homes and apartment buildings to large-scale masterplans, estate regeneration and brownfield development.
HTA is a Certified B Corporation and was named AJ100 Practice of the Year in 2025.
Collaboration and continuous improvement define HTA's culture, which is known for policies and practices that show meaningful care for its people.
A People Forum, made up of representatives from every team, discipline and studio, gives staff a space to share ideas and shape practice-wide actions. HTA also runs employee-led ED&I groups including BLACC (Black, African and Caribbean colleagues), the LGBTQ+ network incl., a Women's group, a Neurodiversity group and a Social Mobility group.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is supported to do their best work. We aim to lead by example, both within the professions we represent and across the wider built environment industry.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are central to our mission to be a great place to work. They help us attract talent from the widest possible pool and are essential to our goal of designing better places to live.
HTA's ED&I Strategy runs through to 2026 and is data-driven and employee-led, informed by an annual Staff Opinion Survey and consultative forums. It is supported by a People Forum and ED&I sub-groups covering BLACC, LGBTQ+ inclusion, women, neurodiversity and social mobility. HTA is an equal opportunities employer.
Our mission is to make great places to live, create a great place to work, and become the most sustainable practice we can be.
We believe everyone has the right to a safe, healthy home, and that good housing and successful places are essential to a more sustainable and prosperous future. We design nature-rich places, high-performing buildings, and functional homes that support both people and the planet.
As a Certified B Corporation, HTA is committed to a triple bottom line, balancing profit with social and environmental accountability. Collaboration and continuous improvement define the practice's culture.
HTA is a practice of more than 200 people, bringing together architects, urbanists, planners, landscape architects, interior designers, engagement specialists and sustainability experts across studios in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Sydney.
