Patel Taylor weaves urban architecture and landscape into one discipline, designing places from city to human scale and everything in-between. Founded by Pankaj Patel and Andrew Taylor in 1989, the practice works from a studio in Angel, north London, and is home to almost 50 people from across the world.
Placemaking defines the work. An integrated approach to architecture, landscape and urban design proposes a framework that helps repair and reinforce a sense of place. From the careful analysis of site, brief and cost, the team creates bespoke architectural responses that add value for clients and heightened delight for the communities they serve. The practice believes architecture should be clear and logical, with spaces suited to their purpose and enhanced by material and craft, light and shade.
Patel Taylor creates exemplary residential, mixed-use and workplace developments, alongside educational and cultural buildings, and is currently working on some of the largest urban regeneration schemes in the UK. Projects range from Thames Barrier Park and Eastside City Park to London Dock, Lombard Wharf and the Silberrad Student Centre, reflecting work that moves comfortably between the scale of a garden and the scale of a city.
