Description

Sybarite is a London-based architecture and design studio founded in 2002 by Torquil McIntosh and Simon Mitchell, built around a shared vision for luxury retail. The practice has become known for architecture that surprises and seduces, with a studio culture described as a diverse global melting pot of evolving talent, operating from its London hub and, more recently, a Shanghai office.

The studio works across architecture, interiors, branding and digital content. Sybarite partners with operators and developers in retail, hospitality and lifestyle, designing and delivering masterplans, developments and buildings, and merging the essence of a brand into the fabric of an environment so that brands can build deep physical and emotional connections with their customers.

Its portfolio spans retail, department stores, shopping malls, monobrand stores, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, galleries, branding and product design. Notable projects include the SKP-S department store in Beijing, SKP Chengdu, the Ferrari flagship in Maranello, and the Apeiron Resort concept. Recurring themes across the work are narrative-driven design, experiential environments and a distinctive blend of fashion, function and art.

Sybarite is an Equal Opportunities Employer and places work-life balance at the heart of how the studio operates, supported by a multidisciplinary team collaborating on international interior and architecture projects.
