Speculative Application – Senior Urban Designer

These firms are at the forefront of shaping our towns and cities, and they need experienced Senior Urban Designers to lead complex masterplanning projects, create strategic regeneration frameworks, and guide policy. They trust us to find creative and analytical leaders who can manage the complexities of large-scale urban development.
What our clients typically ask for
A postgraduate degree in Urban Design, often with a background in architecture or landscape architecture.
A portfolio demonstrating extensive experience in leading the design of large-scale masterplans, strategic frameworks, and design codes.
Proven experience in urban analysis, site appraisal, capacity studies, and preparing compelling visual and written reports.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing projects, guiding design teams, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Confidence in leading client presentations and engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and community groups.
Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
A deep understanding of UK planning policy, urban design theory, and best practices in placemaking.
