Mid-Senior Technician / Architectural Technologist at a Design-Led Practice

East London | Hybrid working | £45,000 to £55,000 DOE

We are looking for a mid-senior Architectural Technologist or experienced Architectural Technician to join a growing, design-led studio with a strong focus on high-quality residential work. This is a role for someone who enjoys technical delivery, takes ownership of their work, and wants to be part of a practice where technologists are genuinely valued as part of the design and delivery process.

The studio is an award-winning practice working primarily on residential and residential-led schemes, ranging from bespoke housing to larger-scale developments. The culture is collaborative, sociable and transparent, with a strong emphasis on doing good work without burning people out. The team works digitally, values clear processes, and supports long-term career development rather than short-term pressure. There is a genuine sense of togetherness in the office, with regular social moments built into the week. In this role, we are looking for someone who can confidently support and lead technical delivery. You will be involved across multiple projects and stages, with real responsibility and trust from day one.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed technical drawing packages using Archicad
• Taking ownership of residential projects through RIBA Stages 3 to 5
• Developing robust details that balance design intent, buildability and compliance
• Coordinating consultant information and managing technical queries
• Supporting tender and construction stages, including responding to site queries where needed

Skills & Experience

• Has 3 to 5 years’ experience in a UK architectural practice
• Has strong residential project experience and a good understanding of UK Building Regulations
• Is confident using Archicad within a BIM workflow
• Is CIAT accredited or actively working towards MCIAT
• Is organised, communicative and comfortable working with a level of autonomy
