Jonathan Goode is an architect and director at Le Lay Architects, a London practice specialising in heritage and conservation. He has worked in London for around 20 years on listed and historic buildings.
His projects include prime residential refurbishments across Chelsea, Kensington and Westminster, the reuse of a former Chelsea chapel as a school, and conservation work for churches. His approach centres on understanding a building's history and fabric, then adapting it sensitively for modern use while balancing accessibility, sustainability and the requirements of listed building consent.
Jonathan is also active in heritage voluntary work and trusteeships, and has contributed to course material on heritage and retrofit. He features on the Architecture Social Podcast discussing what heritage and conservation architecture involves and how to build a career in the field.
