About

Justin Parsons is a Design Director at BDP (Building Design Partnership), based in the practice's London studio. He leads a team of retail and residential designers working on shopping centre refurbishments and extensions and on residential developments in the UK and internationally.

He came to interior design through art, completing an art foundation before a degree in interior design at Middlesex. Through the 1990s he worked in Japan and across Asia, including Osaka and Brunei, on projects ranging from hotels to golf clubs, an experience that shaped a restrained, detail-led approach to materials and the manipulation of space.

At BDP his work has included shopping centre projects for the IKEA retail group across several countries, the move to inner-city IKEA showroom formats in London, and narrative-led residential interiors such as Grand Union. He is a Fellow of the RSA and a member of the Chartered Society of Designers, and he supports emerging designers through mentoring and links with universities.
