About

Lisa Raynes is a RIBA Chartered Architect and the founder of Pride Road, an architectural practice franchise for the residential sector. She set up Raynes Architecture in 2010, founded the urban architecture outreach festival Manchester Curious in 2015, and then created Pride Road to make running a domestic architecture practice repeatable for other architects.

Pride Road focuses on homeowners and small residential projects, an area Lisa sees as large and underserved. Its franchise model gives architects an established brand, systems and support so they can practise with more flexibility and a better work-life balance, something she is candid about after seeing how careers, and women's careers in particular, can stall after having a family.

Based in the Manchester area, Lisa has served on RIBA Council and chaired Women in Property North West, and Pride Road has featured on the AJ100 disruptor list. On the Architecture Social Podcast she speaks with Stephen Drew about niche, systems, overheads, client communication and growing a practice through the franchise model.
