Tim O'Callaghan

Tim O'Callaghan is co-founder and principal of nimtim architects, a design-led practice based in South East London that he runs with his partner Nimi Attanayake. The practice began around 2013, growing from work at the kitchen table into a recognised studio known for playful, people-centred residential and community projects.

In his Architecture Social conversation, Tim reflects openly on the realities of running an architecture practice: finding direction in the early years, fees and profitability, hiring and studio culture, and the challenge of delivering good buildings while keeping the studio's identity intact. He is candid about the personal side of practice, from the decision to start out on his own to balancing work and life with a business partner who is also his life partner.
